All staff must complete and pass both units 1 and 2 as outlined below. Success will achieve a level 2 award in Vehicle Immobilisation and allow delegates to apply for their SIA licence.
Unit 1 Roles and Responsibilities
- Introduction to wheel clamping and removals
- Introduction to the legislation relating to vehicle immobilising (Private Security Industry Act 2001) and the tools used to immobilise a vehicle
- Signs, lines and enforcement vehicles
- Vehicle registration marks
- Health and Safety
- When to clamp and when to remove vehicles
- Vehicle tow away
- Completing paperwork
- Practical case studies (clamping, removal and paperwork)
- Use of photography
- The payment process
- Procedures for start and end of shift
